Transaction Notes is a personal finance messaging program operated by Andrew Siradas. When the operator's bank sends a transaction alert by email, the program sends an SMS to the operator's own mobile number containing the transaction amount and the merchant name. The operator replies with a short note describing the purchase, and that note is saved against the transaction record.
Only the operator. The program sends to a single mobile number, which belongs to the operator, and that is the only number configured to receive messages. There are no customers, subscribers, or third-party recipients, no sign-up form, and no list that anyone else can join.
The operator of this program is also its only message recipient. The destination number is configured by the operator within the application itself, and consent is inherent in that self-configuration. Because no other person receives messages, there is no separate opt-in process for third parties.
Messages are sent only in response to a bank transaction alert, so frequency follows the operator's own card activity. In practice this is a few messages per day at most, and frequently none. No scheduled, recurring, promotional, or marketing messages are sent.
There is no charge for the program itself. Message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's mobile plan and carrier.
